COUPERS: I want to pass along a heads up that my wife and I will be selling her 1970 M-10. It has only 517 hours TTAE with 34 SMOH! It is, I believe, the 8th from the last one built and is certainly one of the lowest time M-10s now flying. We are reliably told the plane was hangared since at least the mid-70s and know that it was stored indoors but out of license since the mid-80s. Between July 2000 (when we bought it) and March of this year, we completed a several hundred manhour restoration/cleanup. With the wings off and interior out, the plane proved to be exceptionally clean and free from corrosion ...lots of shiny aluminum! Being a slightly manic engineer and since my dear spouse would be flying the plane mostly alone, we had a major o/h done on the low time but 30 yr old engine and replaced or o/h'd all accessories and the prop. Throughout the plane, whenever "new" old stock items were available from Univair or Skyport, we replaced many parts versus refurbishing the old ones. Firewall forward, the plane is as close to new condition as we could make it. Virtually all AN hardware was replaced throughout the plane. New Cleveland brakes, wheels/bearings & tires were installed on the spring steel gear. We have, but did not reinstall, wheel pants in very good condition. The fuselage has the original paint (it still shines) and plexiglass (great shape!); the previous owner had had the wings painted several years ago due to faded paint (an okay but not great paint job). The interior rework turned out beautiful. Receipts for all parts and labor and a very detailed listing of the restoration work will come with the airplane; we found 1 area where minor repair had been done on the fuselage (we think sometime before 1975) & can provide detail on that as well. The plane looks, handles and flies great! Why are we selling? We are realizing a long held (although sudden and not planned) dream of having our own private grass strip. It is ideal for my current project Supercub and the Hawk XP we partner on but, with either trees or wires at each end, is definitely not for Patricia in the M-10. We have sold our hangar at the local city airport and are building a new hangar on our farm strip. I refuse to undertake care and upkeep for 2 hangars at separate locations. The M-10 will stay in a rented T-hangar, and be flown regularly by Patricia who is more than a little sentimental about it, until it sells. Not counting our labor, we have almost $35K in the M-10. Realistically, it will sell in the upper $20s. There are a couple of interested folks here in the Tulsa area, primarily due to the low time & excellent condition of the airplane. I would much prefer that some Couper with an appreciation of the truly exceptional nature of this airplane get the benefit of the hard work and attention to detail that went into its restoration. Patricia just wants someone to take good care of HER airplane. If anyone on the list is interested, I will be happy to give more details or photos by email at [EMAIL PROTECTED] or you can call me direct at 918-341-5401 (home). Lastly, a THANK YOU to the list!! I have been following the COUPERS list for a couple of years & have exchanged emails directly with various members. What a great group of people! The info flow on this list was a real help during the restoration of the M-10. Please forgive this long post. ==^================================================================ This email was sent to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] EASY UNSUBSCRIBE click here: http://topica.com/u/?aVxiLm.aVzvvT Or send an email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] T O P I C A -- Register now to manage your mail! http://www.topica.com/partner/tag02/register ==^================================================================ ------=extPart_000_0093_01C171D6.21E0B880--
