I am doubtful of the possibility of having this proposed AD set aside. If I'm not mistaken, it was a single plane that brought about the "Swiss Cheese" AD. I am going to contact this chap and suggest a bore scope inspection as "An alternative method acceptable to the Administrator" I'm in a bit of a quandry about it myself. In a few days I'm going to pull my wings and strip all the paint, take care of a bunch of minor things that need doing. If I'm going to be faced with a bunch of holes in the bottom, the place and time to do it would be next month. If I don't do it then I'll probably be directed to do it 3 months after I'm back in the air. :-( A bore scope inspection would be easy to do during a regular annual. There are some relatively inexpensive bore scopes out there .
