Bob, These are personal newsgroups carried on my newsserver only. Sorry if I did not make that clear. You have to set up your news reader to point to my newsserver (news.ercoupe.com) With Outlook Express this is easy since it handles multiple newservers. Unfortunately it is more difficult with Agent and Free Agent but it can be done. I do not know about the news reader built into Netscape or other independent news readers like gravity.
This is the one disadvantage of news groups is that they take a bit more computer savvy on the part of the user. OTOH they are way better than a list server in my opinion as a way to share information. If other news servers decide to pick up the groups they can but I do not think it is that likely.
