Jim,

Forney developed the dluble fork to "solve the Shimmy" problem...But, in
my
opinion, the fork was not the problem, but loose joints in the sissors
was.

So the fork was replaced, sitting the nose higher, making the coupe
difficult
otm and, etc; when all was needed was proper tightening og the sissors.

Those that replaced the foprks, then had to install shims on the main gear

tomget the coupe back into take off/land position so they would handle
properly and not balloon on landing.....

Tighten the sissors bolts so that the sleeve acts as a bushing.... there
should be no play between the bolt and the bushings...... and no play
between
the bushings and the sissors joints...

Now, that fixes everything so there is no shimmy.

Many unknowing mechanics and owners think the bolts should be just
snug.....not so.... the bolts should be torqued so that the serrated
washers
grip the pheonolic bushing --so tha the bushing turns, not the bolt as the

sissors opens and closes....

Regards,

Harry
