Inverted? The last pilot I knew that flew inverted had the wings fall off. It kind of reminds me of the time I was doing a check out in a Warrior. Seeing as how the instructor could see that I flew the plane OK, he decided that I needed to be able to land the thing right on the numbers. I came in a little low, and was going to give it some fuel, and he grabbed the controls and took over. He had to show me how the plane could maintain some air with ground effect. Well, he made it to the numbers about 10 ft. off the asphalt, stalled, and we crash landed. As luck would have it, we only went down the 10 ft. and he kept it on the little black rolling things. I figured the struts would come right through the wings. I've never been so scared or pissed off in my life. My whole point is that if I'd been dead stick, I'd have made it to the numbers. If I ever find myself inverted, I'll make it out if possible. My instructor once defined flying as "hour upon hour of utter boredom, interspersed with a few fleeting moments of terror." I believe I'll try and limit the terror part, and sit back and enjoy the boredom part.
