Dave: I must differ with you on the load here.   Our D model at 1400 gross

and 820 empty leaves 580 useful. Minus the 144 for full fuel and 15 for
oil 
leaves me 421 lbs for me, my buddy and luggage. I am 170lbs  and have
hauled 
around a 230lb friend with no problem although climb does go to hell. Jack
