I'd also like to compliment you for going out and "playing with the
crosswind."  Practicing these techniques is how we get the skills to
handle them when extra complications are gnawing at our ankles.

And it's a more exhilarating kind of fun than greasing landings on a
windless day at sunset.

And there's definitely some fun in doing an hour of crosswind landings
with a 20-30 mph direct crosswind at the airport where the FBO or flight
instructor tells the innocent that "you don't want a Coupe -- they can't
handle a crosswind."
