My wife and I were watching the AOPA Pinch Hitter video the other evening. As they went through all the goodies on the airplane (e.g. DG, AI, mixture control, prop control, autopilot, etc.) I kept having to say 'nope, no got one of those...'
Same with the VOR, receiver. Then they talked about rudder pedels, and she said 'you don't have those, either, do you?' I began to understand why it really was easier to learn to fly in the Ercoupe. Combine the simplicity of the Cub or Aeronca with no control coordination to worry about and all that's left to do is go flying.
