Brian; I have the control mast out of serial # 170, and the bottom fittings are perpendicular to the top quadrant. However, It is difficult to see this unless you have it out of the airplane, The bolt ears are at an angle, I suppose so you can get the bolts in or out while the yoke is in the airplane. But if you have the entire assembly out, you can see that the tube that the two ears are welded to is perpendicular to the mast on the top. Hope this helps.
