I've had this ongoing problem with trying to get the avionics dude
to correctly get my push to talk buttons working on my Coupe. A month
ago, I had them come in and completely rework the radio. The end
results are that the radio works about as good as can be. But, the push
to talk switches don't work. They've been back twice to fix it, but
don't seem to be able to get it done.
    Now, the problem:
Two weeks ago, after their first attempt at fixing it, I went
flying. The plane worked well, and the amp meter was flailing away,
which means it was charging as usual. I called them in, to let them
know the push to talk still wasn't working. They came in for their
second attempt to fix it. Went flying this week end. Push to talk
still doesn't work, only now the amp meter stays firmly on zero. I
called my A&E to see what they had done. He didn't know, but says they
were in the plane with the battery charger, to keep the unit charged
while working on it. I don't really believe in coincidences. What
could they have done to make this show no charge? I can't see any loose
or damaged wires. I'm not certain it's not charging, as it still starts
fine. But it could still be just that the battery is charged up, and
will soon uncharge. How can I test it?
