Hello to all !! Jerry Mcwhorter has a '48 G with the Bellville springs on the mains not the rubber donuts like I have in my D His tail is at least a foot lower than mine if not more.(mines right on) we took off the landing lite assmbly to look at the springs-
without the wing being jacked up, the springs, all of them were flat my suggestion to him were either replace the whole thing with the springs or replace them with donuts right away as this really could be a bad thing his tail is really low I'm 5'8" and the top of his verticle fin is at my chin or so. What's the concensus??So now we have that to deal with then we noticed that his battery vent tube was dripping I told him lets have a look at that and he proceeded to take out the baggage compartment floor ---- cracked battery case one cell dry. we flushed out he case with some fresh water shouldn't he use baking soda to neutralize too?? BTW the battery is only 2 years old our winter was pretty mild .Were's the place to get the springs ? Univair ?and about how much are they, or should we go to Dunkin Donuts and order up 8 with the cupped washers?? instead?? BTW HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BILL COONS !!!!!!
