This seemed like a good time to ask whether all of the coupes are supposed
to have a fuel shutoff to the fuel pump down under the seat. I have one
on
my 1946 415C under the front of the seat on the right side, but the folks
across from my hangar apparently do not have one, at least not in the same
place. Theirs is a 1947 CD. I thought that it might have been covered up
by their interior or perhaps even removed. They said they could find no
sign of it. Anybody know if the CD came with it in the same place? Glen

Subject: [COUPERS] question about a fuel pump failure and fire
potential......

Is this the correct forum to ask about the potential for a fire if the
mechanical fuel pump ruptures in the middle and sprays fuel onto the
engine.
If anyone has experienced this with or without a fire would appreciate
hearing from them. I noticed a small drops of moisture on my windscreen
during taxi on a clear day. Inspection with the engine running saw fuel
streaming from the fuel pump onto the prop, back onto the engine and
windscreen. Needless to say, back to the hangar and a call to the
mechanic.
Anyone had similar experience, Ed Bandy
