Just wanted to share a little story about the usefulness of a coupe at a
suprise birthday party.
A few weeks ago, my brothers wife was having her 40th birthday...
gala
event, surprise birthday party. That morning, the sun was shining, and I
decided that rather than be in the crowd outside their house waiting to
yell
"SURPRISE!" I'd "bomb" them with confetti. My girlfriend and I headed on
down
to the party supply store to get the biodegradeable confetti. We filled 5
feet of large 9" collapsable tube (like the kind used for dryer ducting)
full of confetti and set off for their house about 40 miles away.
When we got there, I was happy to see that they had not yet arrived
so
we circled waiting anxiously. After 15 minutes of circling, I remembered
where he said he was going to hide out while everyone got into place
setting
up the party. I climbed up to 3500 ft, and headed off for the small town
about 15 miles east. Luckily they were driving a large white chev suburban
so
I could easily spot them on the road below me heading for home. We beat
them
to the house and I made one low pass over the group about 500 ft AGL
"Pilot
to Bombradier... commence strike on my mark...... NOW!~" I've always
wanted
to say that! All the bright colors drifting down from the propwash behind
the coupe looked great, it was all I could do to keep looking ahead and
FLY
THE AIRPLANE. We headed back to Arlington, and landed. I was extremely
suprised to see little bits of crepe paper still all over the tail...
hehe...
Not exactly tech related but thought you might enjoy the
story.
