I just got back from spending a couple days at Dick Chevalier's place in New Mexico. Dick and his wife, Joan, have a four acre house/hangar at the 1st Aero Squadron Airpark near Columbus, NM. What a cool set-up! Kind of like a "Toys Are Us" paradise. Tuesday morning we went up in his 'Coupe (Forney) and toured the local area of Columbus, NM and Palomas, Mexico (only five miles apart). Columbus is Pancho Villa territory and the 1st Aero Squadron was formed and based at Columbus to chase down Mr. Villa using Jenny's. Neat history in this area. Then we jumped in Dick's Cardinal RG and flew to Santa Teresa where we toured the War Eagles Museum. You've got to visit this museum if you're in the area! It has all the coolest, most desirable military aircraft on display...P-40, P-51, F4U Corsair, F-86 and on and on. Next it was off to Las Cruces for a great hamburger at the Crosswinds Grill and a tour of former astronaut Frank Borman's stable of vintage WWII planes. Had an absolutely wonderful time. Dick and Joan are great hosts and very kind people. Sure is nice to actually visit people you meet on this list! Jim N87112
