OK coupers, I wrote about one month ago asking if anyone had ever experienced what I had with the mechanical fuel pump splitting and spewing fuel onto the prop and cylinder head. I noticed a tiny amount of moisture/droplets on the windscreen during run up and investigation by a ground person located the problem easily. I was trying to find out if this had ever ended up with an infllight fire and if so, how long would the fire burn after the wing tank
fuel shut off valve had been rotated to the closed position, if that would be the correct initial response Also how intense would the fire be in the area of the cockpit if it was originating in the fuel pump area. I can tell you that I now regularly practice reaching over and executing a practice turn off of the wing tank valve and I keep it lubricated so it turns without bending the tubing rather than allowing the valve to close. Anyone want to add something to this, it seems a rather serious situation, thanks for any info, Ed Bandy, seeya at Terrell in a couple of weeks. __________________________________________________________________________ ______ To unsubscribe from this list please send mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ___________________________________________________________ T O P I C A The Email You Want. http://www.topica.com/t/16 Newsletters, Tips and Discussions on Your Favorite Topics
