The other day I had the radio guys in tuning up my system. While
working on it, they decided to put a battery charger on so's to keep the
battery up. After working on it, the radios work great. Problem is,
now the regulator is not working. I've traced the whole system.
Generator is charging, but no output from the alternator. Of course the
radio guys want to get paid, but I want them to fix the charge system.
What could they have done to burn out the regulator? Maybe hit it with
24 volts? While searching for the problem, I noticed that my Gen. is a
35 amp unit. This seems like enough output to power just about anything
I'd want to hook up to it. Lee at Skyport says this is the largest size
they have. Could this have come stock back in 1946, or has this large
unit been put on at a later date? I'm just curious about this.
