Yes, Dennis to rub a hole in the header could be the end to a good Day.
But I thing a tweaked airframe would be very easy to see it in this
case.
My first though was and older C with the newer tank. the filler neck are
different in location. By 1/2 to 3/4 inch. (Forward or back) I am
thinking
that someone did not cut the opening to fit the new tank.
The comment about the C to D Stainless would hold water if the install
was off a little on hole placement also.
Glen, Sound as if you really bought a can of snakes. And a few are
trying
to bite you. This is why all that know Ercoupe tell others to have someone
that know Coupe to look at it before you put your money down. This is the
airplane you put on E-bay?
That is as good a reason as I can think of not to buy an Airplane via
computer. A good case of (Caveat emptor) Let the buyer beware. (I knew to
many sales people that live by that.)
