You mean a vernier throttle wasn't stock?  Mine has one.  I just thought
they came
that way.  I would think that spinning it as fast as you can would take
about an
hour to get to full throttle.  I do like the verner control when making
minor
adjustments while in flight, but while on the ground it would seem much
too slow a
rate of change.  Perhaps spin it until she's above 1000 rpm, and then push
it in.
By the way, I want a vernier control for my mixture control.  Anyone out
there got
one installed?  When flying, I'm always above 7000 ft. msl.  I try to lean
it with
the standard push/pull, but it's too difficult to know where you are with
the
mixture.  I do know that she runs better if leaned, and the mixture
control
certainly does work.  I've heard all this about the mixture control being
useless,
but I know it works.
