I spoke with a guy at the "Simple Green" company today and he confirmed that the regular Simple Green is not recommended to clean aircraft with...... unless it is thoroughly rinsed after the application. (even then not recommended). He says they have found that the stuff will etch aluminum and has adverse reactions with cad plated surfaces and chromate primed surfaces. They are developing a product that will meet Mil specs and hope to have on the market in about 90 days. We are on a list to test the cleaning effectiveness of the new product once it's been approved for Mil Specs. Kind of scares me to think we think we're taking care of these airplanes and are actually hurting them with these type of products. BTW, he flew AT-6G's in Korea and appreciates the preservations of old aircraft. I really appreciated his honesty. www.simplegreen.com Steve
