Hey folks, It's interesting that this came up - my dad and I were just talking about this the other day.
He mentioned that he knew of a guy here in Alaska that lost the wings off his Piper Cub because he used chain to tie it down. He cinched it down tight, a nice little wind came up, and POP - sheared the spar. So, for what it's worth, watch the chains and leave some slack...
