Glen,
I used the same aluminum inspection covers as is used in the bottom
of
the wings to close the holes in the center section holes. I put a hole and
grommit in one of the four covers (each side) to allow for the landing
light
wire. Noticed a huge reduction in draft in the cockpit (especially in the
"kazooie" area <G>). This would probably not work as well at keeping water
out, but would help. Covers are cheap and easily removable.
