Hello to all,
I can understand how droop tips could help slow speed manuervering and
perhaps
climb but I can't see how it helps cruise .This helped out the STOL
application
of the Cessna 170-180 series amoung others >Getting in and out of short
strips
and the like is an advantage but the criuse from what I remembered wasn't
effected all that much without increasing the Horse power which really is
what
we need in our coupes and a general clean up and dejunk weight wise would
help
too. These tips keep the airflow over the moveables while minimizeing
spill over
at the tips so at slow speed control is enhanced -some drag it's
trade-off
time.Let's hear what you'all say.
BTW how are these droopies mounted on our rounded tip ?
