Hi Georgia,
Do not be discouraged. I too drove like a drunk when I first started.
It helps if you can sit on your hand at 1st. The left one. The right is on
the throttle. (That is, if you don't have a wind to keep you busy. )
You will be glad you learned with rudder pedals. This way you can also
have the enjoyment of flying other planes that take more than one
passenger, and you will be able to rent planes until you purchase one of
your own. To learn only one way is limiting yourself.
Everyone started out at the same place. That coupe owner was probably
remembering when he 1st started flying (taxiing). You probably just gave
him a case of nostalgia.
Keep up the good work, and thanks for sharing!

Insult to injury! Not only was I being teased by the beauty of the
coupe,
he - the coupe owner, doesn't have to be concerned with having to
steer
with the damn rudder pedals! Seriously, I want to learn how to use
the
rudder pedals. I was being silly.
Gary, who usually goes along as a passenger on my lessons, said the
coupe
owner kept looking over our way. He was probably wondering about the
insane woman running amok in airport in the 172.
'Til next time,
Georgia
