All you Southern AV8R's that have time on your hands this Saturday: Transylvania County has just opened their new Airport. The big BBQ throw down will be Saturday, June 3, 2000 from 11:00 am till 3:00 pm.
Here's the specs: It's a new airport, so it isn't in most data bases.
The
airport is on the next Atlanta sectional, but you've not got that yet so
it
won't do you any good.
ID: NC22
COORDINATES: N35.16.20
W82.38.90
ELEVATIONS: 2110
PATTERN: 3000 MSL (Left Traffic)
RUNWAYS: 09-27 3100x50 Asphalt
UNICOM: 122.7
On the chart, look for Asheville, then Brevard, then a rock crusher
between
Brevard and Hendersonville. The airport is
beside the rock crusher.
Going to be a lot of fun. I think the old planes for the WNC Aviation
Museum will be there.
LOOK OUT FOR LOW FLYING BATS - THIS IS TRANSYLVANIA COUNTY, The Count may
be out. I'm not saying what the BBQ sauce is base on. No steaks allowed.
Hope to see some of y'all there.
Jack
