It may have been mine. 3040H .... but that was almost a month ago :-(
My son flew it down to the Atlanta area to demo it to a buyer. While
taking
off from a 2,300 grass strip on a high density altitude day, he saw he
would
not clear the trees if he rotated so killed the power and braked as hard
as
possible but went off the end of the runway, down a hill, and into the
trees
and a fence. Nobody was hurt. The plane was not hurt too badly and is
repairable... dented leading edge on one wing, boogered up wing tip, and
holes in the fabric.... due to the high cost of those kind of repairs the
insurance company has written it off. If anyone wants a fine, highly
maintained fuse and engine you could try contacting Atlanta Salvage in a
few
days as they will be pulling the wings and hauling it off. So ends the
saga
of my lovely PQ13 look alike and good friend for two years. After i lick
my
pocketbook wounds for a while I may be looking for another somthing to
fly.
Possibly another coupe.
May all your landings be right side up,
Fly safely,
Rob Talbot-Jones 3040H, Rantoul Illinois
