Hey, Don. It was nice to meet you at Jacksonville last Sat. Hope the weather on Sun didn't hold you up any. I notice when I got near IJX that I couldn't get the AWOS on my radio because of the low freq. I carry a hand held also for such emergencies, but its too difficult to mess with unless the weather is too questionable or my main radio goes out. I have an Apollo (UPS) SL40 comm; no nav. It is a really nice radio and I would highly recommend it. The main advantage other than its power (10w) is its ability to let you monitor two frequencies at the same time. I can listen to the local unicom and listen on 122.75 for local pilots trying to team up with someone in the evening for a flight of 2 or 3 to some place. Your coupe should have such a radio. An old used clunker would just not look right in that beautiful coupe.
