Fellow Coupers,

Had A wild surprise last night. I was flying along at 3500' when the
plane started to vibrate like mad. At first I thought I threw a prop
tip. ( had it happen to me on a Bellanca Turbo Viking 300 I had threw
4" if a blade tip. ) But reduction of power did not reduce vibration.
Reduction in air speed did reduce vibration. I landed at nearest
airport, luckly my home base of Kalamazoo (azo) Mich. and went to my
hanger. Vibration went away on the roll out. Below 40 KTS. Upon
inspection of the aircraft I found the wire actuator for the elevator
trim had broken, right where it comes out of the housing, and the
tab/hinge had started vibration and shaking the elevator and the control
yoke. Replaced wire with some I got from the local FBO and test flew
it and all is normal again....

Just thought you might like to file this info in the back of your head
for reference....
