Coupers; We had hoped to leave Klamath Falls early this morning.
However,
the airport is trying to beef up their security, consequently the FBO is
fenced in with no way of communicating other than the telephone. The
terminal
was open, but all doors to the ramp were locked. After 45 minutes of
roaming
around, I finally got someone to alert the FBO that we were trying to get
in,
and they came to the gate. Our 0645 departure turned into a 0745
departure.
Joa, we stopped at Prineville and saw your shirt tail on the wall.
Unfortunately I had not written down your work phone number and the FBO
operator did not know it either. We enjoyed great visibility, over 50
miles,
on our way north. There were several mountains that had snow capped peaks,

including the Three Sisters and Mt Hood. Absolutely beautiful! Our second

stop was in Pullman/Moscow, WA. We got good advice there on where to stop,

and how to get there. We ended up in Sandpoint, ID, which has
transportation
as well as hotels. The grandson says the high point of the day was the
visit
to the theme park at Silverwood, 30 miles south of Sandpoint. In fact, he
enjoyed himself so much that he is hoping the weather does not clear so we

can go back tomorrow. They have an airport at the theme park, but do not
have
transportation or hotels. We traversed northward at 9500 feet all day,
except
for the last leg, which allowed for radar contact and flight following.
Tomorrow we will go on to Kalispel if the weather clears.
