I swapped fuel tank caps L/R this evening, then went flying for about 20 minutes. The system still drains fuel from the left tank while leaving the right tank at the same level as before flight. After a short time sitting on the ground, though, the levels equalize.
Now here's a question (that doesn't seem to make logical sense, since the tanks are interconnected and the pump draws fuel from the common cross-feed line): Is it possible that the left tank will drain completely in flight, leaving only the fuel in the header tank available for the engine while leaving the right tank filled with fuel?
