Craig, Univair has the original plates at a resonable cost... I don't remember how much, but I purchased two in 1996...happened to be in the Denver area....there were lots of nameplates on th eshelf.... Red, but I have no idea what the name of the particular red is. I am looking at new plates right now. The "swipes re red, divided by chrome stripes. The name Ercoupe is in Black, with a background of chrome...all on a brass plate.
I carefully selected no scratch samples when I was there... My 1999 price book shows nameplates at $ 14.57 each. Part # 00011 - rh /00012-lh. I would check with them for scratch free ones...1-888-433-5433 The originals are really beautiful works of art.
