Univair has the original plates at a resonable cost... I don't remember
how 
much, but I purchased two in 1996...happened to be in the Denver 
area....there were lots of nameplates on th eshelf.... Red, but I have no 
idea what the name of the particular red is.
I am looking at new plates right now. The "swipes re red, divided by
chrome 
stripes. The name Ercoupe is in Black, with a background of chrome...all
on a 
brass plate.

I carefully selected no scratch samples when I was there...

My 1999 price book shows nameplates at $ 14.57 each.

Part # 00011 - rh /00012-lh.

I would check with them for  scratch free ones...1-888-433-5433

The originals are really beautiful works of art.
