I've been thinking about this one. First, while it seems logical that you could pull fuel from one tank or the other to start with, at some point the greater pressure of the fuel in the full tank will over ride the condition creating the un-equal fuel levels. Thus, if the left tank goes down say 2 inches before it starts pulling from the right tank, it should stay about 2 inches lower than the right. As they get closer to the bottom of the tank, the pressure differential should become greater in the right tank, causing the levels to become closer as the fuel gets lower. IMHO, the levels should basically become the same at the same time as you exhaust all of the fuel from both tanks. Of course, it there is some other factor, other than pressure, such as a restriction in the line, all of the above would become invalid.
