Greg,
Sounds like 'Tygon' tubing sold by Aircraft Spruce specifically for
airspeed 
pitot and static lines.  I recently replaced auto type heater hoses in my 
Coupe with this type of hose for the vacuum instruments and it has worked 
well so far.  With approx. 50 hours of flying since installing the new
hoses 
I've seen no difference in instrument readings.  On the plus side, the
heater 
hose and brass fittings I replaced were much heavier than the plastic hose

and nylon fittings.  I can't believe this thing went through at least two 
annuals with the non-approved automotive hoses and was signed off.
