Someone told me that EAA Young Eagles was a good thing to do. So 06H and I just flew a half-dozen youngsters, mostly from lovely places like Harlem and central Trenton, on Saturday.
Started ignominiously when the first young man was too afraid of 06H's open cockpit to get past the engine start. We sent him off in the Aeronca Sedan (we fly our Young Eagles in exotic birds). However, all turned out well, because, as predicted by another list member, once the word got out that 06H was the 'flying convertible' EVERYONE was gunning for the little twin-tailed beastie. Even wound up flying a couple of the camp counselors; kind of fun because a steep turn wasn't out of the question for the ones who'd flown before. Okay, I'm hooked. Of course, the hangar next to mine has 'EAA Young Eagles' emblazoned on it, so I guess it's going to be a fairly convenient addiction.
