Jim, As I noted humorously in a previous posting, I'm not a mechanic and I don't even play one on the Internet. I'll post your questions to the group and ask people to send responses to both you and the group for this special case.

I am presently unable to post the questions on the coupers site as I am not at my home computer, thus I hope you do not mind if I send this message directly to you. > > (1) Do you have any experience with gascolators weeping in the summer ( I am in Milton (Pensacola) Florida)? Mine is and there is some 100LL mixied in with it. I am afraid I have a leak somewhere and rather than just replace the gaskets I would like to replace the gascolator itself. It is the original glass type. Is it a difficult matter to replace the old glass gascolator with the new metal type? > > (2) I just recently had an engine power reduction on takeoff which left me five feet above tree tops in slow flight. I was doing touch and gos at the time and on the second go...oopps! Both the coupe and I made it safely to the ground. On inspection a starter bolt was found in my #3 cylinder which had beaten my plugs and cylinder to death! How it got there.... I don't really know. I bought the plane from an AI that gave it a fresh annual and I flew it 25 hours without mishap. My mechanic claims that some ne must have dropped it into the exhaust system by accident while rebuilding the engine (its only has 100 hours on it) and it was sucked up into the engine when I applied carb heat. I would like any ideas on that one as well! > > Thanks > > Jim ... the new couper > > HotBot - Search smarter. > http://www.hotbot.com __________________________________________________________________________ ______ To unsubscribe from this list please send mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ___________________________________________________________ T O P I C A The Email You Want. http://www.topica.com/t/16 Newsletters, Tips and Discussions on Your Favorite Topics
