I seem to have gained nearly 10MPH in cruise (canopy open), corroborated by GPS and another plane in formation flight. This seems uncanny. Mind you, the plane is so slick that I can't keep the metal cap from the window-cleaner sitting on anyplace that isn't flat. This seems like a lot; but my 2300RPM TAS seems to be 110 now, wheres it was more like 100 before. We used to see that kind of gain in the Comanche I grew up in, but in an Ercoupe??? Mind you, this was a VERY thorough clean up of a pretty dirty, buggy, airplane. The airport kid spent 7 hours on it.
