Hi group

I'm also a new owner, although I've been lurking/learning for a while.
Just
went up for my insurance checkout with a CFI who was unfortunately not
coupe-specific knowledgeable. By the way, he LOVED the plane.

A few questions.

1. Has anyone developed or did later (post 1965 Alon) 'coupe POH's contain
an
emergency procedures section? My handbook has very little emergency
related
items, and they are scattered throughout the book.

2. I'm probably showing my lack of experience here but every control
surface
has one hinge that has a braided wire going from the flying surface side
of
the hinge to the control surface side. It looks like it's design to be a
conductor but seems only to connect the two sides of the hinge. Dissimilar

metals corrosion prevention? Static wicks?

3. I couldn't see any counterweights on the ailerons. Do they have/need
them?

4. Anyone know of a good Coupe CFI or really experienced non-CFI in the
San
Francisco Bay Area who would help a newbie learn? Also, what's the ICAO
designator of Er/Aircoupes for flight plans and weather briefings?

Jeremy Constant, new owner of Alon A-2 N6564Q
