The distance between the outside of the tires is exactly 8 feet. The stub wings are less than 8 feet to the outside of the wing fittings. I do not remember how much, but I believe it is about 1 and 1/2 inches on each side for a total of 3 inches less than 8 feet. If you remove the wheels, the axles are approximately the same width as the stub wings. Lynn Nelsen N99387 52FL
