The important thing to do is fly it hard (80% power) for the first hour or 2 to seat the rings. At this point, I'd fly it hard for a few hours, no touch 'n goes, no short flights. Take it out and cruise at 2350 or so for an hour straight. After 15 hours, if the oil consumption or compression is not acceptable, you may need to pull the cylinders off and clean them up with a hone, and try again. (If the cylinders are channel chrome, it could take as long as 50 hours) The hot running could be from a number of reasons, one of which is the (lack of) breakin. Check all the baffeling to make sure it is present and in good shape. Make sure there are no gaps between it and the cowl or it and the engine. Good luck, John __________________________________________________ To unsubscribe from this list please send mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ___________________________________________________________ T O P I C A The Email You Want. http://www.topica.com/t/16 Newsletters, Tips and Discussions on Your Favorite Topics
