The flying in that part of Oregon was the most relaxing enjoyable flying I have done in years. I learned to fly in 1954-55 and was taught to fly from one emergency landing field to another. I still do that I am always looking for a place to land if my engine fails---prop falls off----smoke in the cabin-- ---etc. Here in the Puget Sound area we have lots of trees, urban areas, hills, water, and an occasional small field. Well down in that part of Oregon if you had an engine failure, all you'd have to do is land the airplane, there are so many LARGE fields. I didn't realize just how much of my attention was devoted to this until I had this time where it was not a worry. <G> I'm real glad Mary that your damage was minimal and that you've found some landing gear. I topped my tanks off at Albany on the way down, and Salem on the way home. At both places, the fuel stops were quick, efficient, and painless. Thanks again Bob for your hospitality.
