I'm with you Leslie,
I found a Dead Stop that is good for a year to 18 months.
Much more practical.
I'm into comfort as well.  :-)
I like the idea of flying being fun, silly me.
Fly safe, fly often.........Mary

Subject: [COUPERS] Winter flying

----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]----
"A Schott USN aviator's jacket, with fur collar and liner, plus a set of
paper thin leather gloves lined with wool, plus a goatskin helmet lined with
fleece, plus polypro long-handles, with the cockpit heater open, plus ski
socks and US Marine issue high-top boots, with the cabin heat on full are
more than adequate for winter flying down to below 30-degrees Fahrenheit on
the ground."

Personally, I'm into comfort.  I fly all winter long with my heretical
sliding canopy closed, the heat on, and with polypro long undies.  And with
a "Dead Stop" CO detector.

Don't have much interest in toughening up.
