"Hi All-
I just discovered that one of the tubes on the pitot assembly of my new
(to
me) F-1 is cracked just below the flange that attaches to the bottom of
the
wing. I'm embarassed to admit that it took about 15 pre-flights to
notice
it, but then the A&P who inspected the plane missed it too.

Anyway, Univar wants $231.97 (120-51002) for this little part. Can
anybody
suggested a less-expensive alternative?"

Hi Peter:
Why don't you just remove the pitot tube and repair it? You should be
able to do a good repair by soldering or brazing it. Or you could even
do a repair with epoxy or "JB Weld" without removal.
