Howdy Folks,

Sometimes I do feel rather silly in sending these narratives to the entire
list. It isn't like you haven't all had flying lessons and don't know the
drill.

Nevertheless, I know some of you are interested in my progress. And I
hope that the warning in the subject line will protect the rest of you
from being bored to tears. :-)

I did have a real flying lesson yesterday and I will send a thorough
account soon.

One comment first. I'm embarrased to admit that I did get a little
freaked out. I didn't do anything wrong and in fact, my CFI didn't even
know that I was freaked out until I told him later when we were on the
ground. It was pretty windy and is something I'm not used to yet. And
it's one thing when it's bumpy and someone else is flying. All I have to
do is hang on. But it's the first time I've been flying when we were
bouncing around.

I've talked to a few pilots, including my CFI since yesterday and I have
learned that's it's fairly normal to feel a bit uncomfortable when it's
bumpy. So I guess I don't have to feel embarrassed. Main thing is that I
hung out with it and will go for another lesson as soon as Andres has a
slot, the weather cooperates, and a plane is available.

More on my lesson manana.

Spook
