I recently attended the Copper State fly-in at Mesa Az. and one of the vendors was selling Thorpe t-211 kits. The thing looks just like a straight tail coupe. According to the rep. they have been around since 1946 and the TCDS confirms this. He stated that later on, Thorpe went to work for Piper and designed the Cherokee. I said I had heard that the Cherokee was designed by Fred Weick and he replied that Weick had worked on it too. Any comments?
