The following was in today's paper. N3028G 1960 F-1A Serial # 5723 C90. Charles Rollins of Caledonia, Minn., attempting to land at the Austin Municipal airport in Austin, Minn., crashed his two-seater airplane Monday, narrowly missing traffic on Interstate 90. Sgt. John Stewart of the Minnesota State Patrol said Rollins was injured, but was able to climb out of the plane with help from authorities. Rollins, 76, apparently "powered down" the plane too soon as he was preparing to land, Austin Police Chief Paul Phillipp said. Rollins was taken to Austin Medical Center. He was reported in good condition Tuesday. The above report is a prelim only final will come at a later date. But I thought it went along with the discussion we have been having on landing speeds. It gives us all something too think about and learn from. Charles if you are part of the list here is wishing you a speedy recovery.
