I got my main gear struts back on last Sunday, I'm going to have to get a
step ladder now to see over
the tail fins. I didn't measure it before I started, but it was about
'chin' level and now it's over
my head by a few inches.
It was so cold out there at the airport that when I laid my finger
open I didn't even know it until
I started noticing that things were turning red. I had to examine my
hands to find out where the blood
was coming from. It got down to 27 during the night but it was a little
above freezing by the time I
got to the airport about 8:30 or so. Thank goodnes that cold spell was
only for one night. It hasn't
been below freezing again since then.
I think about 2 or 3 more 'working days' to get the interior back
together and we'll be ready to put
the wings back on. Then we'll see if I can remember how to fly it.
It'll be Thanksgiving week-end before I'll have a chance to go out
there again, I'm going to try and
work on it Friday and Saturday both but Sunday is our (OEE) fly-in to the
Airplane Factory at
Independence so I won't be able to work on it Sunday.
Hey, Washington Coupers, care to join us for lunch and a tour this
small facility that is building
only seven (I think it's 7) airplanes? Those of you who get my newsletter
already know about it, but
the rest of you are welcome to come also.
Independence Oregon at !:00pm Sunday the 26th for lunch and then the
tour. (Don't eat so much Turkey
that you "overgross" your Coupe) ; - )

PS... Thanks Georgia, I needed that!
