I agree, he probably wasn't watching the weather as closely as he should
have been. However, once he got
into trouble (regardless of the reason) he didn't panic, he got you
involved so you wouldn't panic and
give him something else to worry about, and he made the best he could out
of a possibly dangerous
situation.  There is a word for this........"Experience".  Oh, and don't
think for one minute that he
wasn't a little more 'concerned' than he let on. He also 'learned' from
that flight.
    I was in a Piper Super Cruiser one time when suddenly I couldn't see
where the top of the struts
were connected to the wings. Let me tell you, it didn't take me long to
get out of that mess. And yes,
you're right, the adrenaline count does pick up just a tad. (A BIG tad!)
But the secret is to 'not
panic' and you can usuaally correct your mistakes.
