A ".att" file is an attachment file.  Problem is that e-mail systems have to
encode attachments to include them in the mail message (e-mail is rooted in
the world of text, pictures and other file attachments are crow-barred into
the paradigm.)

The att file is a result of the recieving program not understanding how to
"decode" the message into its original form.  Sometimes, a program like
Winzip can figure out the contents.
