In spite of all reports to the contrary, the snow-fall in our part of New Jersey is 24 inches. In honor of the old principle of WWJD (What Would Jimmy Do) I brainstormed the notion of the 'snow-margarita.' I went out with a pint-glass of the beer variety, found a spot where the snow was neither brown nor yellow and scooped her full. Two shots of Jimmy's gold tequila, one of triple sec, one of Rose's lime juice and the snow went 'ahhhh' and sagged down to a shadow of its former self. Demonstrating without question the anti-freeze properties of said concoction. Another trip out to the snow bank, or savings-and-loan, to re-load. The ensuing sip revealed that the mixture was not sufficiently mix-tured. No problem. Out to the front porch and snap off an icicle. Dandy swizzle-stick. Now, the snow-Margarita is a sublime thing. It is smoother and softer than anything that can be made in a blender. It is pure of taste, falling from the sky like a gift from the heavens. None of those 'sneaker' ice-balls that are the trade-hazard of the Osterized item. Just nature and, dare I say it, truth. When life deals you lemons, make lemonade. When it deals you snow, make Margaritas. Beats hell out of shooting holes in the freezer. __________________________________________________ To unsubscribe from this list please send mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ___________________________________________________________ T O P I C A http://www.topica.com/t/17 Newsletters, Tips and Discussions on Your Favorite Topics
