Dear American and International Coupers:
I'm sure you'll all be delighted to hear that as of this month, (now you
might want to remove your hats for this) Canada has adopted an Owner
Maintenance category for certain "certified" airplanes (my Ecoupe being
one)! Basically, this means once the aircraft is transferred to this
category, at the ridiculous price of 46 bucks, then the owner (as long as
he
or she is a licenced pilot) can legally sign for any maintenance
action.(!)
For all intents, the airplane becomes like a homebuilt, therefore the
parts
I use don't necessarily have to cost more than a small house, and they
don't
have to have been built around 1946 technology.
This really is going to be a happy new year!
Sure I'm freezing my ass up here but I can dress for the cold
and it always goes away in the spring. I understand that's not the case
with your FAA!
You may now replace your hats and go retrieve your eyebrows.
Love,
Smilin Spike
