Lots of us actually have day jobs that are not Ercoupe related. Some of us on the cutting edge use e-mail in the course of those jobs. If we're way out there on the bleeding, we may even have some automated way that our customers and co-workers can use e-mail in creative ways to alert us to things that are critical to our situations. To that end, my company forwards messages marked "high importance" to the short messaging system of my PCS carrier. My phone beeps incessently and the name of the sender and date and subject line show up on the screen, so I can drop what ever I'm doing and attend to the crisis. Or explain to those around me how it's something that isn't important...
So please consider the following two things. 1) Use the high importance flag only when the message you're sending is of high importance to the recepient. (not just the sender). Example: You have unrefutable information that all Ercoupes are to explode at 5:45 PM today. 2) Consider never using it in the context of a list, since it's unlikely that everyone on the list will think it's that important anyhow (refer to previous example).
